Grenade found in private residence off Ngong' Road

The Bomb Disposal Unit has recovered a live grenade buried in a garden in a private residence off Ngong' Road. The grenade was discovered by a worker, who later alerted police. Officers say it could have caused death if it had been tampered with.

This comes just hours after security agencies found an explosive outside the Nairobi Women's Hospital in the Adam's Arcade are also along Ngong' Road.

Bomb squad experts who went to the location of the device however said that it was harmless, “A suspected explosive device was found near Nirobi Women's Hospital after a tipoff from the public. The bomb unit has found the device to be harmless,” the National Disaster Operations Center said. -
