LONDON, England, April 15- Inter Milan general director Marco Fassone has revealed that the club are interested in signing Chelsea striker Fernando Torres.
The Spaniard’s future at Stamford Bridge appears to be in doubt after falling behind Samuel Eto’o and Demba Ba in a strike force that manager Jose Mourinho believes to be below-par.
While Mourinho may not think too much of the 30-year-old, the former Liverpool man still has some admirers, with Inter among them.
“Will we sign Torres?” Fassone commented on inter.it.
“You all know that some names have circulated (in the media) and even (club) president (Erick) Thohir has not made a mystery of the fact that they interest us.
“Who will be the right candidate in the end has yet to be defined.”
Torres joined the Blues from Liverpool in 2011 for an undisclosed fee reported to be £50 million, but has never managed to live up to his huge price tag during his time in London.
