LONDON, England, April 25- Chelsea midfielder Ramires will miss the remainder of the Premier League season after he was hit with a four-match ban by the Football Association.
The 27-year-old was charged with violent conduct after he was seen swinging his arm out at Sebastian Larsson’s face during the Blues’ 2-1 defeat to Sunderland last weekend.
An FA statement read: “Chelsea midfielder Ramires has accepted a charge of violent conduct following an off-the-ball incident that was not seen by the match officials but caught on video.
“The incident occurred during Chelsea’s Premier League fixture against Sunderland at Stamford Bridge on Saturday 19 April.
“Ramires receives a four match ban which will start with immediate effect.”
The news means the Brazilian will miss Sunday’s crunch trip to league leaders Liverpool, as well as their remaining two English top-flight games against Norwich City and Cardiff City.
However, he is still eligible to play in the second leg of Chelsea’s Champions League semi-final against Atletico Madrid next week.
