Fabianski makes Swans switch

FABIANSKI-FA-CUP LONDON, England, May 29- Swansea City have completed the signing of goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski from Premier League rivals Arsenal on a four-year deal.

The Poland international has failed to topple compatriot Wojciech Szczesny in the pecking order at the Emirates Stadium, having been used sparingly in the league last season, but impressing when given the chance in cup competition.

However, Fabianski, who played in the FA Cup final win over Hull earlier this month, will now bring an end to his seven-year stay in north London when his contract expires next month, allowing him to join the Swans on a free transfer ahead of next season.

The keeper becomes Garry Monk’s first signing as City manager, although the Pole is by no means guaranteed a start at the Liberty Stadium, with Michel Vorm considered first choice, while Gerhard Tremmel is also amongst the glovemen at the Welsh side.
