LONDON, England, May 8- Louis van Gaal has described Manchester United as “the biggest club in the world”, and said he would “love the job” of manager at Old Trafford.
The Netherlands international is expected to be confirmed as the new Red Devils boss when Ryan Giggs sees out his interim duties on the final day of the season on Sunday.
And, although no official announcement has been made regarding Van Gaal’s proposed appointment, the 62-year-old admits he is relishing the chance to lead the English giants.
“You have to wait and see when the club decide,” he said. “It is always the same, it’s always a process and you have to wait for the process. The press are always too fast.”
When asked what he knew about United, Van Gaal replied: “A stupid question I think. It’s the biggest club in the world. What do you know about Manchester United?”
“You have to ask the club, not to me. I would love the job. You have to wait and see.”
