LONDON, England, June 13- Manchester City have confirmed that they have reached an agreement to sign Arsenal right-back Bacary Sagna.
The 31-year-old’s contract with the Gunners expired at the end of last season and he had already made it known that he would not be penning a new deal at the Emirates.
Instead the France international has signed a three-year deal with the Citizens and has been handed the number three jersey, the same number he wore at Arsenal.
“Everyone at Arsenal Football Club would like to thank Bacary for his fantastic contribution, and wish him all the best for the future,” Arsenal said in a statement.
Sagna joined Arsenal from Auxerre for £7m in July 2007 and went on to make 284 appearances for the north London outfit.
