London July 21-Arsenal look set to miss out on any potential deal for Sami Khedira as Real Madrid are reportedly prepared to offer the midfielder up as part of a swap deal for Monaco’s James Rodriguez.
The Gunners have been strongly tipped with a move for the Germany international and were even believed to have agreed a £24million fee with the Galacticos for the World Cup-winning playmaker.
However, Khedira’s agent last week claimed no such deal had been reached, and any further hopes the Gunners faithful had of seeing the 27-year-old turn out at the Emirates Stadium this season seem to have been ended following claims he will be headed to France.
Madrid are known to be keen on luring Colombia star Rodriguez to the Bernabeu, with the midfielder having sky-rocketed to stardom during Brazil 2014, where he finished as the tournament’s top scorer after helping lead the side to the quarter-finals with six goals.
However, the forward has an estimated £59million buy-out clause in his contract with the Ligue 1 side, although Real Madrid are reportedly prepared to put forward a player-plus-cash offer, with Khedira and an additional £30million thought to be on the table.
