NAIROBI, Kenya, July 23 – Kenya rugby 7s booked their Main Cup quarters berth at the Glasgow Commonwealth Saturday after completing a 35-5 win over Trinidad and Tobago in their second Pool B encounter.
Earlier, Paul Treu charges got off to a solid start after stewing Cook Islands 28-0 in their opener and will now contest who wins the group when they face South Africa in their final match on Sunday (12:10am) local time.
Dennis Ombachi grounded a hat-trick against Trinidad to confirm Shujaa’s place at the stage they exit the competition in Delhi, India four years ago.
Kenya won only once in six meetings with Treu’s former charges South Africa during the 2013/14 HSBC World Series.
