Men can also have headaches
(OYUNGA PALA) It is generally assumed that men cannot wait to get it off. Girls grow up with the notion that men have to be resisted because that is all men think about is sex. But not all men are built alike. There are some guys who do not seem the least bit interested in sex and would rather watch a good movie. It gets even more frightening when the man is a partner and he seems to always come up with one excuse or the other for avoiding lovemaking. Well, here is the thing. Men can also have headaches.
Why would a gentleman who treats you okay keep finding something more pressing to attend to even when the woman makes it absolutely clear that she is horny. What’s his problem? Doesn’t he find me attractive? Is he cheating on me? Is he gay! Not necessarily.
As men get older and as result more eligible as steady partners, they start to get more discerning about their sexual partners. Experience they say is the best teacher and sex can be quite the chore when compatibility is lacking.
Boring sex is a mood killer. Too many good looking women spend a great deal of effort on their outward appearance but tend to make no investment in lovemaking skills. After a long winded chase, a man takes a woman home to discover that he carted an Egyptian mummy to bed. Boring sex is like a slow puncture, diffusing progressively all the passion and desire in a relationship.
Another factor that kills desire is the power games some women play. A man comes home after a long and stressful day at the office. All he wants is a hot meal, some down time in front of the TV and possibly a little tenderness between the sheets afterwards. He walks through the door and meets a confrontational woman with 101 questions to ask, “Where were you?” It is depressing and to expect him to be interested in make-up sex afterwards is presumptuous.
Too many women are socialized to believe that a man must plead and beg before he gets even a peek. It works in high school but in grown up circles, the level of runaround gets old. When a woman takes on an entitled position, treating sex as a privilege that she controls, it drives men away. When he realizes that sex is totally dependent on his wife’s mood he will get tired of negotiating and find a plan B and sometimes, it as innocent as making his work his mistress.
Then there is performance pressure. Imagine a 70 year old man trying to keep spirited 22 year old happy. It is heart stopping affair. The pressure to please and scale heights until toes curl can get intimidating. Sexually aggressive women scare guys off. The reasons could also be psychological. The embarrassment of erectile dysfunction and men who feel that they are not adequately equipped. Somewhere along the growth path, a man had shown up in bed all set and ready and the girl of the moment had laughed off his equipment. That sort of dismissal cuts deep and it would takes years to get over the trauma of inadequacy.
The reason a lot of attached or married men prefer to masturbate is because it comes with guarantees and is usually drama free. Guys learn quickly that is no such thing as free things in life. Sex can turn a potentially easy relationship into an ego contest leading to unplanned parenthood with an alimony bill attached to it.
Mostly though, the reason men avoid sex is simply because he is just not that into you.

Tom Hanks designs typewriting app
Hollywood actor Tom Hanks has turned his hand to technology, creating and launching a design app that recreates the feeling of using a typewriter on an iPad.
Typewriter
The star, who has long been an advocate of the humble manual writing machine, joined with Hitcents to create the “Hanx Writer.”
Inspired by vintage typewriters
The app designs were inspired by three of the actor’s vintage machines and the concept features both tactile and audio elements. Each of the ‘typewriters’ available has a different typeface, with three unique fonts on offer in total.
“With Hanx Writer, you’ll hear the rhythm of your work with shook shook or fitt-fitt,” explains Hanks.
Texts created using the app can be emailed, printed and shared. There are three options available – the Hanx Prime Select, which is free, the Hanx 707 and the Hanx Golden Touch, whch cost €2.69 (around R40, Ksh 400) each.

Wenger defends mis-firing Sanogo
LEICESTER, September 1- Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger admitted Yaya Sanogo’s struggles in front of goal are becoming an increasing problem, but refused to offer any guarantees he will delve into the transfer market for a new striker.
Sanogo, yet to score in any of his 17 competitive outings since his arrival from Auxerre last year following Sunday’s 1-1 draw with Leicester, provided little evidence to suggest he is a ready-made replacement for the injured Olivier Giroud.
“When you are 21 and play up front and don’t score it is very quickly a problem,” said Wenger.
“I don’t think that problem will last very long but when you have the chance to play for Arsenal and you don’t score it is a problem.
“He tried very hard. You can say he didn’t score, yes. Is it on his mind? Of course. He is a striker and scored many goals as a young player.”
One potential solution is no longer available after Loic Remy completed a switch to rivals Chelsea from QPR on Sunday.
But Wenger has refused to raise hopes that he is about to repeat last year’s significant spending on deadline-day, when Mesut Ozil was recruited for £42.5 million (53.7m euros, $70.5m).
“The solution (for the fans) every time you don’t win a game is to buy somebody,” he said. “They have to trust us to buy the best possible solution.
“Why did Manchester city not beat Stoke? They have plenty of strikers. Football is a team sport, not an individual one.
“I don’t like to promise what 100 percent doesn’t only depend on me. We can talk and talk. Even if we sign someone or not could we win today (Sunday) without anybody? Yes.”
Within two minutes Leonardo Ulloa cancelled out Alexis Sanchez’s first Barclays Premier League goal and the Foxes were good value for their point on what proved a frustrating afternoon for Wenger, whose side remain unbeaten on five points but lost ground at the top of the table.
Allowed time and space by his marker Laurent Koscielny — still rattled by a heavy aerial collision with Jeffrey Schlupp shortly before which had required the all clear from the club doctor for him to continue — Ulloa could pick his spot, heading inside the left post.
“If he wasn’t injured, we wouldn’t have conceded the goal,” Wenger said. “I was told he could come back on but, after that, he asked to come off. He was not concussed but there was an open wound on top of the head.”
Foxes manager Nigel Pearson insisted there still more to come from his team, but is satisfied with their start after picking up points against the Gunners and Everton either side of a defeat to Chelsea.
“It’s frustrating for us to have not won a game yet but I have seen encouraging signs,” Pearson said. “We created a number of good opportunities again and we have been putting out opponents under pressure.
“I think we have played better, but we showed flashes. You can’t go into the Premier League being tight all the time, you have to create opportunities.”

Liverpool back to their best, Rodgers
LONDON, September 1- Brendan Rodgers warned Liverpool’s title rivals that his team are back in the groove after they marked Mario Balotelli’s debut with a scintillating 3-0 win at Tottenham.
Balotelli was supposed to steal the spotlight on his return to the Premier League, but the flamboyant Italy striker had to play second fiddle to new team-mates Raheem Sterling, Daniel Sturridge and Jordan Henderson on Sunday.
Sterling scored Liverpool’s opening goal early in the first half and delivered a sparkling display at the top of the midfield diamond formation Rodgers employed to overwhelm Tottenham’s fragile defence.
Balotelli’s strike partner Sturridge was a constant menace, while Henderson covered almost every blade of grass in midfield in a typically energetic showing.
Second half goals from Steven Gerrard and Alberto Moreno sealed the rout, capping the kind of vibrant performance that became Liverpool’s hallmark as they went within touching distance of winning the Premier League last season before Steven Gerrard’s crucial slip against Chelsea gifted the title to Manchester City.
Now, despite the departure of star striker Luis Suarez to Barcelona, Rodgers’s team look to have got over last season’s title race meltdown and the Reds boss believes they will be among the main contenders to win the English crown once again.
“I thought we were excellent. It was an outstanding performance,” Rodgers said.
“We have risen to every challenge since I’ve been here. It was the same last year when people wondered if we could keep it up. The beauty of this group is they are very humble.
“We clicked back to where we were last season. That was good to see, I think people will enjoy watching us this season.”
- Vast talent -
Balotelli offered glimpses of his vast talent with some neat combinations with Sterling and Sturridge during his 61-minute debut, but Rodgers knows the former AC Milan forward has much more to offer once he gets comfortable at Anfield.
He impressed Rodgers with his willingness to tackle the defensive side of the game, even marking at a corner for the first time in his career according to the Reds boss.
But the temperamental Balotelli’s current place in the Liverpool hierarchy was underlined when the Reds were awarded a second half penalty.
Balotelli — something of a spot-kick expert — might have hoped to be given the chance to score his first goal, but captain Steven Gerrard is Rodgers’ preferred penalty taker and he swept his shot past Tottenham goalkeeper Hugo Lloris before exchanging a joke with his new striker.
“He’s scored 26 and only missed one, so he’s got every right to be asking about taking penalties. But Steven Gerrard is an excellent penalty taker and he showed great composure again,” Rodgers said.
“Mario’s a good guy. If you take away some of the circus that surrounds him and treat him like an adult, it’ll bring the best out of him.
“He’s now at an age where he has to show maturity and I’m giving him responsibility.”
While Rodgers was keen to accentuate the positive with Balotelli, he reserved special praise for 19-year-old England midfielder Sterling.
“We’ve tried to develop Raheem into a player that can start inside and also play wide. You’ve seen the flexibility from him today,” Rodgers said.
“It’s important for me they have that intelligence to play in a number of systems. For a kid of 19, he is excellent.”
Ironically, Sterling fluffed his chance to score an early contender for goal of the season when his dribble past four defenders ended with a woeful finish, prompting Rodgers to joke: “Raheem ran into the box like (Tottenham legend) Ricky Villa and finished it like (comedian) Ricky Gervais”.
Tottenham’s new manager Mauricio Pochettino, frustrated by the first defeat of his reign, said: “We are very disappointed with the result.
“We competed well in the first half, then in the second half we conceded a very soft penalty at a key moment.”

Casillas fumes after Real defeat
MADRID, September 1 – Real Madrid captain Iker Casillas slammed his side’s performance after they let a two-goal lead slip to lose 4-2 at Real Sociedad on Sunday.
“What happened was very unusual, especially after the first 15 minutes. After that everything was negative, we were horrible in every facet,” he said.
“We can’t lose a game in this way. We have to accept the defeat and the criticism and learn from what happened today.”
Real looked well on course for victory in San Sebastian thanks to early strikes from Sergio Ramos and Gareth Bale.
However, Sociedad were level before the break as Inigo Martinez made the most of some slack Madrid marking from a corner before David Zurutuza bulleted home a header from Alberto de la Bella’s cross.
And there was more of the same to come in the second-half as Zurutuza put Sociedad in front before Carlos Vela rounded off the scoring.
“We have started the season and it is clear that we need to correct a lot of things,” added Casillas.
“We need to keep going because we are wearing a very important crest on our shirts and that is not the example to show to the world.”
The visitors were without the injured Cristiano Ronaldo and departed Angel di Maria and Xabi Alonso after they joined Manchester United and Bayern Munich respectively in the past week.
However, boss Carlo Ancelotti refused to blame their absence for the defeat and instead questioned the attitude of his players.
“I didn’t like this defeat because I think sometimes you can play a bad game, but as a team like Real Madrid when you are winning 2-0 you have to show the right attitude and that is my responsibility,” said the Italian.
“I don’t think it is a problem of one or two players. It is the whole team who lost after a very good first half hour.
“The presence of Xabi Alonso when the whole team doesn’t have a good attitude wouldn’t have changed things.”
In contrast to Ancelotti’s post-match comments, Barcelona coach Luis Enrique hailed the attitude of his players as they continued their winning start to the new campaign with a 1-0 victory at Villarreal.
Debutant Sandro Ramirez scored the only goal of the game eight minutes from time from close range after Sergio Asenjo had denied Lionel Messi.
However, Enrique was just as impressed with his new side’s second consecutive clean sheet after they were heavily criticised for their poor defending last season.
“The attitude of the team satisfied me,” he said.
“We have a lot to improve on but they have great desire and for me it is a priviledge to see.
“We haven’t done anything yet, but it is encouraging and I am especially happy that today the Barca fans will be happy.”

Joan Rivers on life support after cardiac arrest
Joan Rivers’ daughter Melissa is “keeping her fingers crossed” that her mother will make a recovery.
The 81-year-old comedienne is currently on life support after going into cardiac arrest on Thursday (28.08.14) and the 46-year-old beauty, Joan’s only child, is praying her mum’s condition will improve.
She said in a statement today (31.08.14): “Thank you for your continued love and support. We are keeping our fingers crossed.”
A spokeswoman for Mount Sinai hospital in New York said she had no update on the ‘Fashion Police’ host’s condition as of midday today.
Melissa and her son Cooper, 13, flew to New York as soon as they were told about Joan’s health scare and the stunning star may be faced with the decision whether to switch off the machines keeping the blonde beauty alive next week if her condition doesn’t improve.
Joan was placed in a medically-induced coma three days ago after she stopped breathing while undergoing a routine operation on her vocal cords at the Yorkville Endoscopy clinic.
Meanwhile, Joan appeared in “good spirits” the night before the throat surgery when she cracked jokes about death during a performance at Laurie Beechman Theatre on Wednesday night (27.08.14).
She told the audience: “I’m 81 – I could go at any moment. I could fall over right here and you all could say, ‘I was there!’ “

Anna Wintour gets $200,000 clothing allowance
The editor-in-chief at American Vogue magazine is the recipient of an estimated $200,000 clothing allowance, according to The New York Times.
The newspaper also reported that the 64-year-old fashionista has attended over 3,000 fashion shows on behalf of the company.
Since she first started working for the Conde Nast publication, 29 years ago, plenty of changes have taken place and most notable of these changes is perhaps the cover.
The New York Times report shows that during the first five years of her reign, Anna only used celebrities on 13 per cent of covers, compared to 93 per cent of covers featuring celebrities over the last five years
Vogue has featured numerous models and entertainers over the years, but the newspaper believes that ‘Hitch’ actress Amber Valletta is especially favoured by the current editor-in-chief as she’s appeared on the cover seventeen times during Anna’s reign as editor.
Up-and-coming model, Gigi Hadid recently paid tribute to Anna’s first ever Vogue cover, in a photo shoot to celebrate the re-launch of Vogue.com.
The teenager wore an A.L.C Covington jumper to match Michaela Bercu’s bejeweled Christion Lacroix, which she wore on the cover of the November 1988 issue of the magazine.

Sean Kingston sued over $1 million by jeweller
Sean Kingston is reportedly being sued over $1 million for not paying his jewellery bill.
The 24-year-old singer – whose real name is Kisean Anderson – has been slapped with a lawsuit from a jeweller in New York after he allegedly failed to settle the funds for the watches, chains, bracelets and necklaces he bought between 2008 and 2013.
Avi Da alleges in the legal documents, obtained by TMZ.com, that the ‘Beautiful Girls’ hitmaker owes him more than $200,000 and still hasn’t returned the $12,000 ring he was loaned for a TV appearance.
Avi also claims Sean has attempted to pay off his debt in the past but the cheques he wrote have all bounced.
The jewellery specialist believes he’s owed $226,200 in total but is also demanding punitive damages.
Meanwhile, this isn’t the first time Sean has failed to settle a bill as he allegedly ran up a bar tab of $8,771 while partying with his friends at Euphoria nightclub in the Dominican Republic in March this year.
However, the ‘Eenie Meenie’ hitmaker wasn’t totally to blame as it is believed there was a miscommunication between him and the venue managers, who reportedly told him they would “take care of” the group, and he thought that meant they would get free drinks all night.
Sean was tracked down by police after the authorities were informed of the incident, and he was ordered to pay the bill before being allowed to leave the country.
Sean was reportedly “very apologetic” for the error and returned to the club immediately to pay the tab.

Spurs stroll gets Liverpool back on track
LONDON, August 31- Liverpool reasserted their Premier League title credentials with a breezy 3-0 win at Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday as Mario Balotelli made his return to English football.
After Raheem Sterling had put Liverpool ahead in the early stages, Steven Gerrard scored a penalty and Alberto Moreno netted his first goal for the club to give Brendan Rodgers victory in his 100th game as manager.
“Overall our quality was exceptional. We got three goals and could have had more,” said Rodgers.
Balotelli started for Liverpool after his £16 million ($26.5 million, 20.1 million euros) move from AC Milan on Monday and he produced an enterprising display before being withdrawn in the 61st minute.
“I thought he was excellent,” Rodgers said of the maverick striker.
“He’s bought straight into our team ethic. He’s trained well and has put all that background noise about him to one side. He’s been brilliant.”
The result saw Liverpool bounce back from a 3-1 defeat at Manchester City in their previous outing and ended Tottenham’s 100 percent start to the campaign under new coach Mauricio Pochettino.
Back in England after a 19-month stint in Milan, former City striker Balotelli almost crowned his return with an early goal, only for Hugo Lloris to parry his header from Daniel Sturridge’s cross.
The 24-year-old Italy striker’s finishing was to prove wayward throughout the afternoon, but it did not prevent his side from taking control of the game.
- Moreno’s memorable goal -
They made the breakthrough in the eighth minute. Sturridge released Jordan Henderson with a ball down the right flank and the England midfielder played a low cross across the box that Sterling tucked away at the far post.
After Emmanuel Adebayor had lobbed over and Liverpool goalkeeper Simon Mignolet had parried a fierce drive from Nacer Chadli, Gerrard doubled the visitors’ lead from the spot in the 49th minute after Eric Dier had held back Joe Allen.
Moreno sealed victory on the hour with a memorable first goal for Liverpool, dispossessing Spurs substitute Andros Townsend on halfway and surging into the box before drilling a shot into the bottom-right corner.
“We need to learn and improve,” said Pochettino. “Today was a very tough game for us.”
In the day’s other early game, Aston Villa won 2-1 at home to Hull City to preserve their unbeaten start to the campaign and provisionally climb to third place in the standings.
Gabriel Agbonlahor and Andreas Weimann put the hosts two up at half-time at Villa Park, with Nikica Jelavic replying for previously unbeaten Hull in the 74th minute.
Arsenal visit promoted Leicester City later on Sunday for their first league game since striker Olivier Giroud was ruled out for up to four months with a broken tibia.
Chelsea are guaranteed to go into the international break on top of the table after an engrossing 6-3 win at Everton on Saturday, in which close-season signing Diego Costa scored twice.
Mame Biram Diouf claimed the only goal as Stoke City pulled off a surprise 1-0 win at Manchester City, while Angel di Maria made his debut for Manchester United in a 0-0 draw at Burnley.

Glory beckons Prinsloo hat-trick champs KCB
NAKURU, Kenya, August 31-KCB inched closer to retaining the Safaricom Sevens Series title after squashing hosts Nakuru RFC 26-10 to bag the Prinsloo 7s honours on Sunday.
The Bankers who became the first team to win the Prinsloo 7s three times in a row now need to qualify for next weekend’s series closing Christie 7s Main Cup quarters to successfully defend the crown at Nairobi’s RFUEA Grounds.
The win saw KCB extend their lead at the top of the standings to 85 points, 17 ahead of Homeboyz while Nakuru comes third on 61 points.
“Its three years in a row winning the Prinsloo 7s, I’m happy the boys managed to win it despite having so many injuries. Many could not believe we will win without our key players like Andrew Amonde, Darwin Mukiza, Ken Moseti and Brian Omondi.
“It was hard defending the title infront of their fans who were intimidating but we managed to pin them down in the second half, so I can’t say we have lifted the series yet until we prove ourselves at Christie because anything can happen,” elated KCB head coach Curtis Olago said after the win.
Wanyore who whitewashed Western Bulls 20-0 to reach the finals, opened the scoring through Philip Kwame after sprinting from the left to touch down but the conversion went wide for a 5-0 lead.
Edwin Salamba cancelled the lead three minutes later after the hosts backs made a blunder for Salamba to ground underneath the post before converting.
Peter Kilonzo maximized Nakuru’s one man down after Lesly Ochieng was sent to the sin bin to extend the lead to 12-5 at the breather.
Nakuru entered the last half on a high with Charles Odhiambo reducing the deficit to two points but could not sustain the momentum as Jacob Ojee raced from the left to touch under the post for Salamba to convert.
Assistant captain Oliver Mang’eni hammered the final nail on the coffin after scoring KCB’s fourth try as Salamba converted for the win.
Impala beat Nondescript 29-7 to lift the Bowl while Lunch Bar Quins were crowned Shield winner following their 19-12 win over Kabras.

Arsenal held at Leicester
LEICESTER, August 31- Leonardo Ulloa cancelled out Alexis Sanchez’s first Premier League goal as promoted Leicester City held Arsenal to a 1-1 draw at the King Power Stadium on Sunday.
In the absence of the injured Olivier Giroud, close-season arrival Sanchez added to his crucial Champions League winner against Besiktas in mid-week with a 20th-minute opener for Arsene Wenger’s side.
But Ulloa responded with a header just two minutes later as Leicester maintained their unbeaten home league record and provided further evidence they can hold their own in the top flight.
They were more than good value for their point on what proved a frustrating afternoon for Wenger, whose side remain unbeaten on five points but lost ground at the top of the table.
Last weekend, Giroud’s late goal rescued a point against Everton, but with the France international absent for up to four months with a broken tibia, this performance raised concerns they will struggle for goals in his absence.
Yaya Sanogo, Giroud’s deputy, endured a forgettable afternoon that left him without a goal in his 17 competitive outings for the club.
And Arsenal supporters left Wenger in no doubt over their feelings as they chanted for him to sign a striker before Monday’s transfer deadline in the closing moments of a entertaining and even contest.
There was concern early on for Arsenal’s Laurent Koscielny when he bore the brunt of an ugly aerial collision with Jeff Schlupp.
Under new Premier League rules, the defender was forced to leave the pitch to be examined by a club doctor before returning with his head heavily strapped.
Wenger’s team had a fortuitous escape in the 18th minute when Riyad Mahrez’s neat one-two with Andy King culminated in a low drive that flashed inches past the post.
Arsenal claimed the lead two minutes later after Santi Cazorla outfoxed the Leicester defence with a dinked ball to Sanogo.
The French forward’s attempt lacked conviction, but to Arsenal’s good fortune, Kasper Schmeichel’s save served merely to divert the ball into the path of Sanchez, who swept home from close range.
- Ulloa hits back -
Leicester manager Nigel Pearson has instilled confidence in his team, however, and they drew level within two minutes, just as they had in their opening 2-2 draw with Everton.
A slick interchange between Schlupp and David Nugent on the left flank allowed the former to deliver an arcing cross from near the byline.
Fatally afforded time and space by Koscielny, Ulloa had the luxury of being able to pick his spot, planting a powerful header inside the left-hand post.
Less than four minutes later, Calum Chambers — fresh from receiving his first senior England call-up — was summoned from the bench to replace the struggling Koscielny.
Leicester began the second period as they had finished the first.
Ulloa should have put his team ahead after controlling Mahrez’s pass superbly and outwitting the sliding Chambers with a drop of the shoulder, only to clip his effort into the side-netting.
Cazorla, once more, broke the home side’s offside trap with a sublime scooped pass, yet the unmarked Aaron Ramsey headed tamely into Schmeichel’s arms.
Within a minute, a glorious opportunity came Sanogo’s way, with Nacho Monreal slipping him through down the inside-left channel, only for Schmeichel to step smartly off his line to thwart the Frenchman.
With his attackers labouring, it was no surprise to see Wenger make changes, with Sanogo and Cazorla replaced by Lukas Podolski and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain for the final stages.
But for all of Arsenal’s possession, Leicester remained a major threat on the counter-attack.
The visitors had Szczesny to thank when he thwarted substitute Jamie Vardy following another incisive Leicester one-two, this time with Nugent.

Touch of an Angel fails to lift Man U
LONDON, August 30- British-record signing Angel di Maria was unable to inspire Manchester United to victory on his debut as they drew 0-0 at Burnley in the Premier League on Saturday.
A £59.7 million ($98 million, 75 million euros) acquisition from Real Madrid, Di Maria started the game, but despite some probing passes and darting runs, he could not illuminate United’s path to goal against Sean Dyche’s promoted side.
Having seen his team beaten by Swansea City and held by Sunderland before being humiliated 4-0 by third-tier Milton Keynes Dons in the League Cup, new United manager Louis van Gaal has now gone four competitive games without recording a win.
“We were the stronger team, certainly in the second half,” Van Gaal told BT Sport. “We created chances, but you have to score. That is where we have failed. The progress is there, but you have to win.
“A club like Manchester United has to win. We have two points from nine and that’s disappointing.”
United’s frustrations were compounded in the last five minutes when Spanish playmaker Juan Mata had to go off after appearing to injure his hamstring.
Di Maria came into the United team in central midfield alongside Darren Fletcher and witnessed Burnley twice go close to taking the lead inside the first five minutes at a sunny Turf Moor.
Burnley’s former United trainee Dave Jones curled a free-kick against the bar and visiting goalkeeper David de Gea then had to save alertly after Lukas Jutkiewicz seized on a miscued back-pass by Jonny Evans.
Di Maria produced his first moment of quality in a United shirt in the 15th minute with a raking 50-yard pass for Robin van Persie, who chested the ball down, only for Burnley goalkeeper Tom Heaton to parry his shot.
Dave Jones worked De Gea from 25 yards at the other end, while United felt they should have been awarded a penalty after Burnley right-back Kieran Tripper appeared to push Ashley Young over in the area shortly before half-time.
Van Persie threatened twice for United around the hour, seeing a volleyed cleared off the line by Dean Marney and heading over, before Di Maria was replaced by Anderson with 20 minutes to play after taking a kick to the calf.
Van Gaal also sent Danny Welbeck into the fray, but with newly appointed England captain Wayne Rooney heading wide and Burnley substitute Ashley Barnes surviving a penalty-box handball claim, the Dutchman had to content himself with a point.

Tributes pour for fallen Safari great Waldegård
NAIROBI, Kenya, August 31- Local and international competitors from the FIA European Rally Championship to the Kenya National Rally Championships have paid tribute to Björn Waldegård, the first world rally champion who passed away Saturday from cancer.
Waldegard died aged 70, following a fight with cancer. His health had rapidly declined in recent months but he was due to drive a Lancia Stratos at Rallyday at Castle Combe at the end of September, but cancelled that appearance in order to receive treatment.
Only two months ago, he drove a Toyota at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.
WaldegÃ¥rd took the inaugural world drivers’ crown in 1979 having contested selected European championship events earlier in this career, scoring five wins in the process.
The Swede, who was 70, still made occasional competitive appearances and won the East African Safari Classic in 2011 co-driven by his son Mathias.
“He will always be remembered as the first world champion,” said Craig Breen, part of the Peugeot Rally Academy line-up in the ERC.
“He was a massive ambassador for the sport and was still competing on the East African Safari Classic. As a world champion he was an inspiration to anyone who came behind him. He was still a young man so it’s a sad loss for everyone.”
Petter Kristiansen, an ERC Junior contender from Norway, said: “I’ve been watching what he had been doing but when I was young I remember watching the Paris Dakar rallies and he was the commentator on the TV.
“I remember that very well when I was about 10 or 11. It was always nice to hear him speaking so it’s sad to hear he’s passed away.”
German driver Sepp Wiegand said: “For sure it’s sad news about him that he’s not here any more. He’s an icon from rally sport. I know him from the name and some old videos.”
Mark Higgins, who is chasing ERC Production Car Cup honours on Barum Czech Rally ZlÃn, said: “He was just a pure gentleman and even at his age a very good driver from when I sat in the Stratos with him a few times. He was quite an amazing character and I’m very sad to hear that he’s gone. There wasn’t a bad bone in his body.”
Jean-Pierre Nicolas, the ERC Sporting Manager and a former rival of WaldegÃ¥rd, paid an extended tribute: “He was not just a fast driver but he was one of the best drivers, one of the five best in the world at his time with people like Röhrl, Mikkola and Munari. He was a very calm person, never any problem with anybody.
“He was always a fair guy, very straight. We can always say a lot of good things when one guy has died but I cannot imagine anybody to have one problem with Björn, it’s impossible.”
He added: “I remember him in 1970 when he won Monte Carlo with the Porsche and I finished third with the small Alpine 1300. In France we say he is aMonsieurwith a big M and this means he is a big man for everything. I really admired that he drove for so long and did Rallye du Maroc four years ago with my car.
“He was so passionate about rally and I think in his mind he must have needed to drive. The rally atmosphere was his life. One of his big qualities was that he was very good everywhere,”
The departed great became the oldest driver to win a WRC event at 46 when he won the Safari Rally, the event that shaped his legend here in Kenya.
“Sure on snow because it was his favourite surface but on gravel and also in Africa, especially in Kenya, he was one of the top drivers and it was always a big motivation to all the other drivers when he was doing the same rally as you,” Nicolas stated.
Former Capital Sport rally guru, Eddy Kimani, now Director of Communications, Governor’s office, Nakuru, posted on his Facebook page “RIP Bjorn Waldegard, many memories of you we will cherish forever,” to lead the countless online tributes from Kenya.
Alongside the message was the photo below when the departed Swiss maestro crashed during the Classic Safari, an event he headlined to the last.

Daley to fill ‘Blind’ spot at United
LONDON, August 31- Manchester United announced on Saturday that they have reached an agreement to sign versatile Netherlands international Daley Blind from Ajax.
“MUFC has reached agreement with Ajax to sign Daley Blind, subject to a medical and personal terms,” United said in a statement on the club’s official Twitter page. “A further announcement will be made when the process is complete.”
Blind, 24, was in United coach Louis van Gaal’s World Cup squad in Brazil, where he helped Holland reach the semi-finals, and can play at left-back and as a defensive midfielder.
Subject to agreeing personal terms and passing a medical examination, Blind is poised to become United’s fifth close-season signing, as Van Gaal seeks to restore the club’s flagging fortunes.
Speaking after United’s 0-0 draw at Burnley in the Premier League on Saturday, Van Gaal said: “He’ll come to Manchester to have a medical, and then we might have a new player.”
United have already spent over £130 million ($215 million, 165 million euros) on new players, including a British-record transfer fee of £59.7 million to sign Argentina winger Angel di Maria, who made his debut against Burnley.
They have also signed England left-back Luke Shaw from Southampton, Spanish midfielder Ander Herrera from Athletic Bilbao, and Di Maria’s international team-mate Marcos Rojo from Sporting Lisbon.
Dutch newspaper reports claimed that Blind and his business manager Rob Hansen had been in talks with United over a five-year contract.
A transfer fee has not been made public, but Dutch media reports say Blind will cost United between 18 million ($23.6 million, £14.2 million) and 20 million euros.
The son of former Dutch international defender Danny Blind, Daley impressed at the World Cup and played a key role as Van Gaal’s side took third place behind Germany and Argentina.
A product of the famed Ajax youth academy, he can play in a variety of positions, and is familiar with the 3-4-1-2 playing system that Van Gaal has introduced at Old Trafford.
That versatility is attractive to Van Gaal, who has seen his new side make a stumbling start to the season with a home loss to Swansea City followed by draws at Sunderland and Burnley and a disastrous 4-0 League Cup loss to third-division Milton Keynes Dons.
Blind said it was a proud moment for him to sign for such a great club.
“It happened really quickly. I’m glad it turned out this way and I’m incredibly proud,” Blind told the NOS public broadcaster shortly before boarding a flight to Britain.
“I’m not the type of player who scores lots of goals in a season. I’m more a team player. My job is to help other players play better.”
United could sell a number of players before the transfer window closes on Monday as Van Gaal seeks to restructure his squad.
England midfielder Tom Cleverley is in talks with Aston Villa, Japan playmaker Shinji Kagawa has been linked with Valencia and former club Borussia Dortmund, and Mexican striker Javier Hernandez is a reported target for Juventus.
Asked about Kagawa after the draw at Burnley, Van Gaal said: “We’ll have to wait and see, because players are deciding (to leave) at the last minute, not the manager.”

Mourinho set to sign Remy- Redknapp
LONDON, August 31- Chelsea are set to sign France striker Loic Remy from Queens Park Rangers before Monday’s transfer deadline, according to Hoops manager Harry Redknapp.
Remy was set to start for QPR in their 1-0 Premier League win at home to Sunderland on Saturday, but Redknapp revealed the 27-year-old was pulled out of the team after Chelsea’s approach.
The Blues are reported to have triggered an £8 million ($13 million, 10.1 million euros) release clause in Remy’s contract after settling on the former Marseille forward as a replacement for Spain striker Fernando Torres, who is joining AC Milan on a two-year loan.
“He was in the team. I just got a phone-call about 12 o’clock (1100 GMT) to say it looks like he is going to be moving,” Redknapp told the BBC ahead of kick-off at Loftus Road.
“The deal looks like it has been done, so I had to make a change. As far as I know (it is Chelsea). He didn’t refuse to play, but it’s difficult to go out there to play and get your head around it.”
Speaking after his team’s 6-3 victory at Everton later on Saturday, Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho confirmed his club were working to seal the deal.
“We are trying since yesterday, when we knew Fernando was leaving, to get Loic Remy but I don’t know the status,” he told Sky Sports.
Remy would have moved to Liverpool in July, but he failed a medical for unspecified reasons.
Asked if he was concerned the same issue might come up during his Chelsea medical, Mourinho added: “We have a fantastic doctor and I trust him completely. They will identify any problem.”
Remy joined QPR in January 2013, but following the club’s relegation to the Championship, he spent last season on loan at Newcastle United, scoring 14 goals in 26 league games.
Meanwhile, Redknapp has revealed that 29-year-old France international midfielder Lassana Diarra has agreed to join QPR from Lokomotiv Moscow.
Diarra previously played under Redknapp at Portsmouth and the QPR manager said: “Lassana has signed and I’m delighted to have him. I had him at Portsmouth and he is a terrific player.”
The conditions of Diarra’s transfer have not been revealed.
QPR will be the fourth English side that Diarra has played for after previous spells with Chelsea and Arsenal.
The central midfielder joined Real Madrid from Portsmouth in January 2009 and spent three and a half years in the Spanish capital before a pair of unsuccessful stints at Russian clubs Anzhi Makhachkala and Lokomotiv.

Dropped Falcao nears Monaco exit
MONACO, August 31- Radamel Falcao appeared to be closing in on a departure from Monaco on Saturday after being pulled out of his team’s Ligue 1 clash with Lille at the last minute.
The Colombian had initially been named in the Monaco squad but was withdrawn from the matchday list at the last minute amid mounting speculation that he is on his way out of the principality club.
Real Madrid, Juventus and Manchester City have all been closely linked with a move for the 28-year-old, who on Saturday evening did little to quell the speculation by posting a tweet which read: “Dream come true #HalaMadrid”.
The tweet, including a slogan used by Real Madrid fans, suggested that Falcao was bound for the Santiago Bernabeu, although the player deleted it shortly afterwards and then claimed that the message was faked.
“I have to deny a report about a tweet that I did not do and that was photo-shopped,” he wrote.
Falcao started and scored the winning goal, his second of the season, last weekend against Nantes and had been expected to start for Leonardo Jardim’s team against Lille at the Stade Louis II.
In his absence, Dimitar Berbatov started and scored as Monaco drew 1-1, a result which leaves them with just one win and four points from their first four Ligue 1 games.
Falcao, wearing a Monaco club suit, watched the game from the stands next to his agent Jorge Mendes and club vice-president Vadim Vasilyev.
When asked about the striker’s absence, Monaco coach Leonardo Jardim said: “Falcao was unavailable. I can’t say any more than that. I don’t know if he is going to leave and I don’t want to talk any more about it.
“I really like Falcao but the most important thing is to talk about the match.”
The former Atletico Madrid striker moved to Monaco for a fee in the region of 60 million euros ($78.8m, £47.5m) last summer but his season was ended by a serious knee injury suffered in a French Cup tie in January that also ruled him out of the World Cup.
Falcao, who has scored 13 goals in 22 appearances for the principality club, could follow the path taken by his compatriot James Rodriguez, who left Monaco for Real Madrid in July.
However, any move will have to be completed before the summer transfer window closes on Monday.

Chelsea hit Everton in goalfest, City crash
LONDON, August 31- Chelsea overpowered Everton 6-3 in a remarkable game on Saturday to preserve their 100 percent record in the Premier League, after Manchester City were stunned by Stoke City.
Jose Mourinho’s Chelsea led 2-0, 3-1, and 4-2, but Everton kept coming back at them and it was not until Diego Costa made it 6-3 with his second goal in the last minute that the home side finally admitted defeat at an enraptured Goodison Park.
Chelsea were 2-0 up inside three minutes, with Diego Costa tucking away a pass from Cesc Fabregas after only 36 seconds before Ramires teed up Branislav Ivanovic to drill a low shot past Everton goalkeeper Tim Howard.
But Kevin Mirallas reduced the arrears with a fine header on the stroke of half-time and when Everton right-back Seamus Coleman slid an Eden Hazard cross into his own goal in the 67th minute, it heralded a flurry of five goals in 10 minutes.
Two minutes later Steven Naismith hit back for the hosts to make it 3-2 and although Nemanja Matic then restored the visitors’ two-goal cushion, Samuel Eto’o marked his first Everton appearance since leaving Chelsea by heading home.
But Ramires gathered a pass from Matic and toed the ball past Howard to make it 5-3 and after Mirallas had hit the post, Costa exploited an error from Everton substitute Muhamed Besic to complete the scoring with a classy finish.
The result left Chelsea as one of only two teams to have won their first three games, along with Swansea City, although Tottenham Hotspur can emulate them with victory over Liverpool on Sunday.
“If the salt and pepper of football is goals, to have nine goals in a Premier League match is fantastic ingredients,” Mourinho told Sky Sports.
“I know Everton are a good offensive side and their movement is not easy to control, but we concede three goals — it is too much.”
Senegalese striker Mame Biram Diouf scored a memorable solo goal as Stoke condemned defending champions Manchester City to their first defeat of the season with a shock 1-0 win at the Etihad Stadium.
The former Manchester United forward struck in the 58th minute, picking up the ball in his own half and powering past Aleksandar Kolarov and Vincent Kompany before squeezing a shot between the legs of City goalkeeper Joe Hart.
It was only the second time City had failed to score at home in 71 league matches and only their second home defeat since May 2013.
- Di Maria makes debut -
“It’s a surprising defeat because we don’t expect to lose against Stoke, but these games sometimes happen,” said City manager Manuel Pellegrini.
“We tried from everywhere. We are not very creative, we did not find the space, and that is credit to Stoke.”
British-record signing Angel di Maria made his Manchester United debut earlier on Saturday, but was unable to inspire his new side to victory as they drew 0-0 at promoted Burnley.
A £59.7 million ($98 million, 75 million euros) acquisition from Real Madrid, Di Maria started the game and produced some probing passes and darting runs, but he could not illuminate United’s path to goal against Sean Dyche’s side.
After a loss to Swansea, a draw at Sunderland and a 4-0 humiliation by third-tier Milton Keynes Dons in the League Cup, new United manager Louis van Gaal has now gone four competitive games without recording a win.
“We created chances, but you have to score,” Van Gaal told BT Sport. “A club like Manchester United has to win. We have two points from nine and that’s disappointing.”
Swansea finished the day level on nine points with Chelsea after extending their 100 percent record by beating West Bromwich Albion 3-0 at the Liberty Stadium, where Nathan Dyer claimed a brace.
Neil Warnock’s second stint as Crystal Palace manager began in thrilling fashion as Wilfried Zaha marked his own return to the club by scoring a 95th-minute equaliser to earn a 3-3 draw at Newcastle United.
Newcastle twice fell behind, but they looked to have secured victory in the 88th minute when Mike Williamson made it 3-2, only for Zaha — back at Palace on loan from Manchester United — to drill home deep into injury time.
Elsewhere, a 45th-minute Charlie Austin strike saw Queens Park Rangers claim their first victory of the season in a 1-0 win over Sunderland, while Morgan Schneiderlin scored twice as Southampton came from behind to win 3-1 at West Ham United.

Serena, Djokovic, Murray sail through
NEW YORK, August 31- Wimbledon champion Petra Kvitova became the fifth top 10 seed to exit the US Open in the first week when she was knocked out by Serbian world number 145 Aleksandra Krunic on Saturday.
But there were no such problems for men’s top seed Novak Djokovic and eighth-seeded Andy Murray, both former champions in New York, who remained on course for a mouth-watering quarter-final showdown.
Five-time women’s champion Serena Williams was also a comfortable winner, racking up her 75th victory at the US Open.
Third seeded Kvitova lost her third round tie 6-4, 6-4 to pint-sized 21-year-old Krunic, who came through qualifying and had never won a match at a major before this year’s event.
Kvitova joins second seed Simona Halep, fourth-seeded Agnieszka Radwanska, Angelique Kerber, the sixth seed, and eighth-seeded Ana Ivanovic in failing to make the fourth round.
The 24-year-old Kvitova dropped serve five times and committed 34 unforced errors against the 5ft 4in (1.63m) Krunic who divides her time between the pro tour and studying for a university economics degree.
“It was an honour to play on the same court as Petra, she’s a great champion. I watched both her wins at Wimbledon,” said Krunic, who next plays former world number one Victoria Azarenka, the runner-up to Williams in the last two years.
Kvitova said she was taken by surprise by her opponent’s poise and power.
“I didn’t really expect how she played so well. Suddenly she just pushed the ball very hard,” said the Czech.
Djokovic, the 2011 champion, brushed aside America’s Sam Querrey for the eighth time in nine meetings, with a 6-3, 6-2, 6-2 win taking the world number one into the fourth round at a major for the 22nd consecutive time.
“Sam is big server, very powerful. But he doesn’t move that well so I wanted to keep him moving around the court, mix up the pace and get as many returns as possible back,” said Djokovic after an 85-minute win which was never in doubt from the time he raced into a 5-0 lead in the first set.
- Last American man -
Djokovic will next face John Isner, the last American left in the draw, if the 13th seed can beat Germany’s Philipp Kohlschreiber.
Women’s top seed and double defending champion Serena Williams eased past her third successive American compatriot, Uzbekistan-born left-hander Varvara Lepchenko, 6-3, 6-3 and will tackle tough Estonian Kaia Kanepi for a quarter-final berth.
“I had to make some adjustments because of the wind but I got some excellent advice from my coach,” said 32-year-old Williams, playing in her 15th US Open and aiming to become just the second woman after Chris Evert in the 1970s to win three New York titles in succession.
“My opponent played at an unbelievable level but I tried to hang in there and do what I needed to do.”
Murray, the 2012 champion, hit 47 winners in a 6-1, 7-5, 4-6, 6-2 victory over Russia’s Andrey Kuznetsov, the world 96, to book a seventh appearance in the fourth round.
“I got off to a good start and then had a cushion when he got back into the match in the third set,” said 27-year-old Murray.
Also going through to the last-16 for a third successive year was Canadian fifth seed Milos Raonic who beat Victor Estrella Burgos, the 34-year-old tournament debutant from the Dominican Republic, 7-6 (7/5), 7-6 (7/5), 7-6 (7/3).
He will face Japanese 10th seed Kei Nishikori who reached the fourth round for the first time since his 2008 debut with a 6-4, 6-2, 6-3 victory over Leonardo Mayer of Argentina.
Later Saturday, Australian Open champion Stan Wawrinka, the third seed, faces Slovenia’s Blaz Kavcic, the world number 92, who has never defeated a top-10 opponent in 10 attempts.

Bayern stutter at Schalke in Alonso debut
BERLIN, August 31- Xabi Alonso made his Bayern Munich debut and Robert Lewandowski scored his first goal for the club as the defending champions drew 1-1 at Schalke 04 in the Bundesliga on Saturday.
Alonso was handed his first start at Bayern a day after completing his transfer from Real Madrid and he watched ex-Borussia Dortmund striker Lewandowski open the scoring after 10 minutes in Gelsenkirchen.
Shortly before being substituted, the Spanish midfielder was involved when Schalke equalised on 62 minutes. Alonso attempted to execute a sliding goal-line clearance only to see the ball bounce into the net off Benedikt Hoewedes’ arm.
Despite Bayern’s protests, the goal stood and the home team comfortably held on to end a run of seven defeats in a row against the Bavarians.
“I thought the first 20-25 minutes were really good,” Bayern coach Pep Guardiola said. “In these games you have to keep possession and after 25 minutes we didn’t manage that. That was the problem.”
Bayern almost got the opening goal after only four minutes when Ralf Fahrmann saved from Thomas Mueller but Guardiola’s side did not have to wait much longer.
Sebastian Rode was the architect, playing a one-two with Lewandowski inside the penalty area to leave the Polish international with an easy finish.
A rash clearance from Bayern goalkeeper Manuel Neuer almost gifted Schalke an equaliser before half-time, but Schalke full-back Kaan Ayhan was unable to hit the unguarded goal from the halfway line.
Bayern seemed content to sit on their lead and Schalke eventually drew level when a Sidney Sam free-kick was poorly dealt with. Alonso did his best to prevent a header across goal finding the net and there was little Hoewedes could do to prevent the ball going in off his arm.
“We definitely didn’t come out of the starting blocks well,” Schalke 04 boss Jens Keller said. “But my team deserves great credit for the way they reacted to the early goal.”
- Two from two for Leverkusen -
The result meant that Bayer Leverkusen sit top of the Bundesliga after Roger Schmidt’s side came from behind twice to beat Hertha Berlin 4-2 earlier on Saturday.
Following an impressive win in Dortmund last week, Leverkusen made it two wins from two thanks to late goals from Julian Brandt and Karim Bellarabi.
“This was a very tough game for us and because of that it was very valuable,” Leverkusen manager Schmidt said.
“At half-time we saw it as a challenge to grow into such a game. In the end we deserved to win so hats off to my team.”
Tin Jedvaj turned into his own net as visitors Hertha took the lead in the first half but the Croatian defender made amends when he levelled on 50 minutes.
Hertha made it 2-1 on the hour when Julian Schieber nodded in his third goal of the campaign but two minutes later Emir Spahic headed home from a free-kick.
Brandt then smashed home with 16 minutes left after Bellarabi had struck the bar and Bellarabi rounded off the scoring with the best goal of the game.
Meanwhile, Paderborn earned their first ever win in the Bundesliga with an excellent 3-0 victory at Hamburg.
After 29 minutes, Elias Kachunga pounced on the rebound for his second goal in as many weeks. Mario Vrancic then intercepted a pass to double Paderborn’s advantage with 21 minutes left before Moritz Stoppelkamp added a third.
“Paderborn fully deserved to win,” Hamburg coach Mirko Slomka said. “Our performance, overall, was shocking for us – a bitter result. We’ve really disappointed our fans.”
Cologne also got their first victory since returning to the top flight by beating Stuttgart 2-0 thanks to first-half goals from forwards Yuya Osako and Anthony Ujah.
Hoffenheim were unable to keep pace with Leverkusen after they were pegged back in a 1-1 draw at Werder Bremen, while VfL Wolfsburg are still without a win after being held to a 2-2 draw by visitors Eintracht Frankfurt.
On Friday, Borussia Dortmund held off a late comeback to beat Augsburg 3-2 in what was their first league win of the new campaign.

Atletico struggle past Eibar for first win
MADRID, August 31- La Liga champions Atletico Madrid recorded their first victory of the campaign with a hard-fought 2-1 win over newly-promoted Eibar on Saturday.
First-half headers from Miranda and Mario Mandzukic ultimately proved decisive, but Atletico were given a scare after Abraham’s brilliant strike had brought Eibar back into the game.
The visitors had a great chance to level the game three minutes from time, but Angel’s effort trickled inches past the far post as Atletico held on.
Diego Simeone’s men had been held 0-0 at local rivals Rayo Vallecano in their league opener on Monday, but normal service appeared to have been resumed by two set-piece goals inside the first 25 minutes.
Brazilian defender Miranda put the hosts in front when he met Koke’s corner at the near post and the ball flew into the net via the underside of the bar.
Eibar had produced an upset in beating near neighbours Real Sociedad in their first ever Spanish top-flight match last weekend, but they were punished for their defending 15 minutes later when Mandzukic planted a header from Gabi’s free-kick into the far corner.
However, the Basques responded in fine style and after Miguel Angel Moya had beaten away Javi Lara’s free-kick, they produced a moment of sheer quality to get back into the match.
A flowing move resulted in left-back Abraham curling Mikel Arruabarrena’s backheel into the top corner from outside the area with his right foot.
Atletico tried to restore their two-goal cushion before the break and only a fine save from Xabi Irureta prevented Raul Garcia from celebrating his call-up to the Spanish national team on Friday with a goal.
Eibar, though, were by far the more dominant side in the second period and Moya had to be alert to divert Angel’s low drive for a corner before Eneko Boveda’s header flew just wide.
And Angel had a golden chance to equalise three minutes from time when he was played in after an uncharacteristic error from Diego Godin, but he prodded the ball just wide of the target.
Earlier, Athletic Bilbao celebrated their qualification to the group stage of the Champions League with a comfortable 3-0 win over Levante.
A two-goal hero from their triumph over Napoli in midweek, Aritz Aduriz headed home the opener just after the half-hour mark.
Ander Iturraspe doubled the Basques advantage just after the break before Iker Muniain rounded off the scoring.
Celta Vigo also continued their unbeaten start to the campaign despite the absence of departed coach Luis Enrique as they drew 1-1 at Cordoba.

Toure ready to face Moscow racists
LONDON, August 30- Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini is confident Ivory Coast midfielder Yaya Toure will play at CSKA Moscow later this season despite suffering racist abuse in Russia last term.
Toure was subjected to racist taunts by CSKA supporters when the clubs met in the Champions League and they will face off in the same competition once again after being pitted together in Thursday’s draw.
Toure was furious with the abuse and even suggested black players could boycott the 2018 World Cup in Russia if the country did not get to grips with the issue.
CSKA were punished with a partial stadium closure by European governing body UEFA and sanctions were increased to full closure after a further offence in another match.
That means CSKA will be playing behind closed doors at the Khimki Arena in their first home match of this year’s competition.
That punishment will have been served by the time City visit on October 21, but Pellegrini expects Toure to be prepared to play.
“He does not have a problem to go to Moscow,” Pellegrini said.
“At that moment he said what he thinks about it and every one of us supports him because I don’t think those things can happen on a football pitch. This year Yaya doesn’t have a problem.”
Asked if he had spoken to Toure about the matter, Pellegrini said: “I don’t think it’s important to continue the same thing.
“That happened last year and UEFA has rules not to allow to those things so I don’t think it’s good to continue with that.”
