>>> Arsenal to run their own Ozil scans

OZIL-VILLA LONDON, October 10- Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger will be seeking a second opinion on Mesut Ozil’s knee injury after the German Football Federation claimed he would be sidelined for “10 to 12 weeks”.

The 25-year-old underwent scans in Germany this week, with the DFB then announcing the playmaker had suffered a “partial rupture of the outer band of the left knee joint”.

And while Wenger admits the signs are not good for Ozil, he insists they will only announce a timeframe for his return after running their own medical checks when he returns to the Emirates Stadium.

“When he arrived with the German national team, they didn’t think it was a lot at the start. He was supposed to practice on Wednesday but, in the end, he said that wasn’t possible for him,” Wenger said.

“Then he had a scan and it was bad news. We have our own specialist giving us his opinion after reading the scan and examining Mesut. We will follow our own recommendations.”
