FKF claimed Orato was found culpable of issuing ‘sensational, misleading and unwarranted reports to the media’ regarding the issue of the yet to be played Sony verses AFC Leopards match which has been on hold for five months, after FKF overturned Kenyan Premier League’s (KPL) rule to award the controversial match to Ingwe.
“The National Executive Committee noted with great concerns that Mr Paul Orato the Sony Sugar Chairman who had been summoned to appear before the committee failed to heed the summons.
“His actions are equivalent to discrediting the federation its employees, and the judicial bodies,” FKF ordered.
The federation directed Sony they should desist from involving Orato in any football-related activities for the period of his suspension and failure to act accordingly, FKF will attract severe actions as per the federation’s rules on Kenyan Football.
Efforts to reach Otaro were futile by the time we went on press although his coach Zedekiah Otieno told Capital Sport the said summon arrived late on the eve of the meeting to enable him secure leave from his work place.
NEC also warned Munro after charging him with ‘malicious efforts to undermine FKF and any other unwarranted attacks that may create disunity between FKF and KPL’ stating further involvement would attract sanctions.
“Munro who personally appeared before NEC confirmed contrary to reports emanating from some clubs in the KPL there was no bad blood between FKF and KPL and all clubs were duty bound to respect and honour decisions made by FKF as the supreme body.
“It was unfortunate that some clubs resorted to creating an impression that there was a rift between the National Office and KPL. We as the league body strongly condemn those behind such utterances,” the federation underscored in a statement.
“Munro added that the issue of the immediate former national team head coach Adel Amrouche was between him and his immediate former employer FKF, and he will play no further role in the matter,” FKF claimed.
Last week, FKF president, Sam Nyamweya, fired a long protest letter at Munro accusing him of facilitating Amrouche who was fired in August after Kenya were eliminated from Afcon 2015 by Lesotho to sue them for wrongful dismissal at the Court of Arbitration for Sport for compensation.
