Club assistant Secretary General Prof. Khadima Asava informed Capital Sport Wednesday the Executive Committee is yet to meet with the team’s personnel including players to chart a way forward.
“Those are propaganda since we have not approached any coach. At the moment the club is evaluating the season and when we meet, we will give a comprehensive statement on what we have decided.
“We will meet the coach after he comes from holiday to plan the way forward because he has done what we asked of him and that was to take the team out of relegation. We did not give him specifications of winning the league. We are not so sure on considering a new coach since it would mean starting to rebuild the team and we want to avoid and maintain consistency,” Khadima declared.
The assistant Secretary General admitted the team is facing financial constrains and once they stabilize, they will settle the unpaid dues of the players as reported here http://ift.tt/1pN1Ft7.
“Our sponsor Mumias (Sugar) has not released the player’s salaries for October but we are working very closely with them to make sure the players get paid before the end of the week.
“We have not paid them (players) their allowances and bonuses for the matches they won,” he added.
Khadima noted inconsistency in technical bench and playing unit cost them this season but declared they will begin the pre-season next Monday to build a strong team that will be seeking to win a 14th national title and be at par with arch rivals Gor Mahia.
“The season that just ended was very challenging in the sense we struggled despite having the best players. These is because we kept on concentrating on the side shows rather than building the game, we changed our technical bench towards the end of first leg and so it took time to catch up with the rest.
“We are now concentrating on 2015 and we don’t want a repeat of what we have seen. The coach has already identified weak areas that he will strengthen and we are also eying very good and experienced players to beef out squad.”
“It’s good for our fans to keep us under pressure but again they should be tolerant and patient as we try to make things happen.”
