KCB new signings

NAIROBI, Kenya, January 30 – “KCB will not struggle in 2015 as they did last season,” That is the assurance head coach Rishadi Shedu has given as the Bankers unveiled their new signings on Friday at their Ruaraka base.

Last year, the Bankers missed relegation by a whisker finishing off 14th after a disastrous first leg, but Shedu, among many other targets wants to see the team start the season on a positive note.

Shedu believes he has assembled a decent squad which can challenge for a top five finish this term.

“What we lacked last season was depth. At some point during the season, you see things not going well on the field and you look at the bench to see who can come in and rescue the ship and you are lost,” Shedu told Capital Sport.

“I’m happy with the players I have brought on board this season and I do believe we will be stronger than we were. My target is to see to it that we start well and maintain the same tempo throughout the season,” he added.

KCB has brought on board midfielder Daniel Onyango from Gor Mahia on a one year deal while Andrew Kulecho joins from Kakamega Homeboyz, Yussuf Juma and Victor Majid from Bandari, George Omondi promoted from the Under-19 side while Joshua Oyoo and Duncan Wafula join on loan from Tusker FC.

“I was frustrated because I was doing well in training and the few matches I played, I did my best but still I never found myself playing much.

I felt the coach did not have plans for me and I asked if I could leave in search of playing time and when KCB came calling, I could not turn down the offer. I’m looking forward to this adventure and I’m sure I will have a great season,” Onyango who moved to Gor at the beginning of last season from Western Stima said.

Left back Yussuf Juma will be looking to re-ignite the sparks of his once glowing career at Thika United after stints at Gor, Sofapaka and lately Bandari failed to resurrect his glittering face that once showed one of the best natural left footed defenders in the country.
