Africa Celebrates Africa Environment Day and Life of Wangari Maathai Celebrations to mark this year's Africa Environment Day and Wangari Maathai Day commenced with the burning of 15 tonnes of contraband ivory by Kenya's President Uhuru Kenyatta at Nairobi National Park, with 1,000 guests in attendance, including the African Union Commissioner, Cabinet Secretaries, the United Nations and members of the international community.
