LONDON, October 8-Chelsea captain John Terry has revealed that striker Diego Costa is fully fit and training every day, despite Jose Mourinho’s claims to the contrary.
Mourinho stated in the build up to the Blues 2-0 win over Arsenal on Sunday that Costa was doing ‘almost nothing in training’ and was forced to spend the majority of the club’s sessions recovering from his tight hamstring.
Despite his alleged ailment, the Spain international has made excellent start to his Chelsea career and netted his ninth goal of the season against the Gunners.
Terry has contradicted his boss’ claim that the club’s medical staff have wrapped the former Atletico Madrid striker in cotton wool in order to keep him semi-fit, saying that Costa has been training just fine.
“I’m not sure where that’s (hamstring issue) coming from. He certainly isn’t showing that against me in training,” Terry is quoted as saying by the BBC.
“He is training every day, he looks sharp, he looks angry, he looks aggressive. He’s fit at the moment and that’s the main thing.”
