LONDON, November 13- Arsenal have reportedly approached Roma about the possibility of signing striker Mattia Destro during the January transfer period.
The Gunners added to their attacking options during the off-season, with Danny Welbeck and Alexis Sanchez having been brought in from Manchester United and Barcelona respectively.
Yaya Sanogo is also an option up front, although the Frenchman has failed to make any sort of significant impact at the Emirates Stadium, while Olivier Giroud suffered a fractured foot at the start of the campaign and Theo Walcott has only just returned from a nine-month injury absence.
This has led to claims Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is scouring Europe for another frontman, with Roma’s Destro tipped as a potential target when the transfer period resumes at the turn of the year.
With Destro seemingly out of favour at the Serie A giants – having managed just four stars in the Serie A this term – a deal could be completed which would see the 23-year-old turn out in the Premier League in 2015.
