ODM accuses CS Nkaissery of plotting to rig Kajiado Central mini-poll

ODM has accused Interior Cabinet Secretary Joseph Nkaissery of plotting to rig the Kajiado Central Parliamentary by-election set for Monday.
In a statement from ODM's Director of Elections Junet Mohammed, the party alleged that the Interior CS who was the Kajiado Central MP before his appointment, of working with the provincial administration in the area and the IEBC to rig the election in favour of the Jubilee Alliance Party,Patrick Tutui .
"Gen. Nkaissery spent the whole day today at the Bush Camp hotel in Kajiado campaigning for JAP candidate and plotting the rigging after realising the strength of ODM candidate Elijah Memusi, " Junet said on Friday
Junet further said that it is illegal and against electoral laws for a Cabinet Secretaries to involve themselves in politics.
"Why is IEBC quiet on this matter even after fraudulent registration of Jap by RPP? " he said.
The statement comes after the High Court dismissed a case in which a voter wanted to stop the Kajiado Central by-election
Ntusero Tiyie who was supposed to show up with his voters card in court at Milimani, Nairobi, did not turn up leading to justice Isaac Lenaola saying that his moving to court seven days to the mini-poll was suspect.
Delivering the ruling, Lenaola said the change of name from Conservative Party to Jubilee Alliance Party is not against the law.
"You cannot injunct what has already happened in JAP. What happened in Conservative Party is a change of name, party colours and symbol which is not in any way against the law," Lenaola said.
He said the change of name to JAP did not in any way affect the nomination process of Patrick Tutui to vie for the by-election.
